Alyson Chugerman. CHHC, AADP

I am the founder of Attain True Health, a private practice devoted to nurturing people to feel good about themselves, gain optimal health and find balance in all aspects of their lives. I have been involved in the health and wellness field for over 20 years.

My daily mantra is “Eat Real, Live Mindfully and Laugh Often”. My passion for food has led me on a journey that began with my youngest daughter. When the school suggested she might have ADHD, we knew that medication was not the answer. We chose to change our diets and our daily habits. We took out refined sugar, dyes, preservatives, and additives and started eating more organic real, whole foods. I took cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America and educated myself in Kinesiology and Homeopathy. We hiked, biked, started yoga classes and took up orienteering. Six weeks later, the teachers at school told us how wonderful she was doing and asked what medication she was on. I told them she was eating real food and exercising more. No one believed me at first but I knew if just changing our diet and our lifestyle choices could make that big of an impact in a short amount of time, I knew I had to share what I did and what I know with others.

Sound nutrition and its impact on the human body has taken me down a path that has enriched my life, my family and the lives of countless others. It hasn’t always been easy so laughter is a big part of the process. If we can find the joy in healthy eating, mindful daily rituals and practicing gratitude, then we can lead a balanced and fulfilled life.

Being a nutritional detective to figure out what worked and what did not work for my children. My formal education has taken many paths and I first began with a Certification in Health Kinesiology, which means I am able to balance the subtle energies in the body. I also use this extensively to ‘muscle-test’ supplements or particular foods for sensitivities. Besides the many cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, I have also been certified in Basic Classical Homeopathy.

Most importantly, I am Board Certified Holistic Integrative Nutrition Coach in which I received my training to practice at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC and also hold a degree in Integrative Nutrition from SUNY Purchase. I am Board Certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Ithaca College. And most recently earned a certification from the Health Coach Institute in Transformational Coaching.
